Black History Month 2020

We Were There...

Across the University, working closely with the Student Union, we are using Black History Month 2020 to continue the discussions about race, and celebrate diversity.  We aim to showcase the written, oral and visual history in which Black individuals have been contributing to the UK, but which are frequently ignored or forgotten by history.

Alumni - Working for Equality

Join our panel of alumni experts to discuss how we can close the BME leadership gap and promote diversity.

Studies in the UK show that graduates from black African and other black ethnic groups are the most likely to have no destination five years after graduating, standing at 9.4% and 10% respectively.

As the graduate job market becomes increasingly competitive, networking is essential in helping young people to make it into the workplace. But it seems that many basic career-building tools - networking opportunities, mentor networks and job postings - aren't geared towards black students.
