Departmental Needs Analysis
If as a department you want to go deeper than using the self-assessment tools in order to create your EDI action plan for an inclusive environment. The EDI team can help you conduct a departmental needs analysis.

The first step to creating an effective EDI road-map is to set a baseline. The baseline is the foundation on which the other project elements will be built on.
As each department is part of the larger University, which we know a lot about from their data, policies, and culture, this need not be a full EDI audit, but a needs analysis.
The function of phase one is to gain knowledge about the department looking at both the visible and invisible organisation to create this baseline. From this, a scoping statement and road-map with specific initiatives, activities, and milestones can be crafted. Once agreed, this road-map can be used to take the department into phase two, and operationalise the plan.
